About The Cause
This race is being organized by students at James Madison High School in Vienna, Virginia, as part of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Students of the Year fundraising campaigning. This is a seven-week fundraising campaign running from January 23 - March 13, 2021, in which high schoolers across the country compete to raise the most money for blood cancer research. We are participating in memory of our grandfather, Jack McFarland, who passed away from lymphoma after a battle of more than 25 years. He was able to live as long as he did thanks to LLS-funded cancer treatments that target cancer cells. Our hope is to help other cancer patients like Grampa Jack live life to its fullest.
Your registration for this event will help us reach our goal of $50,000 to find a cure for cancer.
